Cedarwood Counseling Center acknowledges the city entitled Santa Fe is still recognized as Oga Po’geh (White Shell Water Place) and is regarded as an important region for the Northern and Southern Tewa. We recognize that this land is included in a vast area of land for Indigenous peoples, including the Nambe Pueblo; the Tewa; and the Jicarilla Apache, the Diné (Navajo), Cochiti, Taos, and Hopi Pueblos. 

We understand that these lands were colonized, and therefore work to recognize the true history of this land and respect it to the best of our ability. We also wish to state that this type of acknowledgment is not enough to achieve decolonization and intend to also learn to work towards this goal through actionable steps.
